The carrier announced that it is waiting for instructions on the procedures, requirements, and aircraft insurance related to flying to Russia.

The airline expressed deep regret over the force majeure, affirming that it will return the funds to ticket purchasers and help them reschedule the flight for when air connections to Russia are restored.

It recommended passengers closely follow the upcoming announcements.

Passengers can seek assistance through Vietnam Airlines’ website at www.vietnamairlines.com, its mobile app, Facebook fan page at www.facebook.com/VietnamAirlines, its call center at 19001100, or ticket offices and agents nationwide.

Vietnam Airlines is currently the only Vietnamese carrier operating a regular flight to Moscow. The carrier just resumed the route between Hanoi and Moscow in January after nearly two years of hiatus due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
