Vietnam-Laos target US$5 billion bilateral trade by 2025

Vietnam and Laos aim to increase bilateral trade to $5 billion by 2025, up 15% on year. At the 47th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee chaired by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Lao counterpart Sonexay Siphandone, the two sides signed agreements on energy, infrastructure, and education, and reaffirmed their deep cooperation in the economic, defense, and cultural sectors.

Prime Minister instructs VTV to increase innovation, global reach

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 11 urged VTV to uphold its editorial policy, innovate strategically, and prioritize audiences. He called for national television to become a leading regional broadcaster with global credibility by promoting digital transformation, leveraging technology, and enhancing Vietnam's international image.

Delegation brings Tet celebrations and solidarity to Ly Son Island

A delegation aboard Ship 390 visited Ly Son Island on January 11 to celebrate Tet with local residents, officials, and soldiers. Ho Chi Minh City strengthens preparedness with large-scale emergency drill

Ho Chi Minh City held an emergency drill on January 11, simulating fire, explosion, and evacuation scenarios during a fireworks show. More than 130 vehicles and special forces participated, focusing on key locations such as Nguyen Hue Street and the Saigon River. The exercise is expected to improve coordination and preparedness.

New book highlights vibrant ethnic costumes and cultural heritage

The bilingual book "Vivid Colors of Women's Ethnic Costumes in Vietnam" was launched today in Hanoi, featuring 55 traditional outfits from 35 ethnic groups. Based on a 99-day journey, it combines vivid illustrations, cultural stories, and historical insights to preserve and celebrate Vietnam's ethnic heritage.

Danang invests in semiconductor and AI talent development

Danang has allocated VND873 billion ($37 million) to develop semiconductor and AI talents. The policy offers up to VND100 million ($4,200) per month for experts and full loan forgiveness for local graduates. The initiative aims to train 5,000 engineers by 2030 and establish Danang as a high-tech hub.
