Tourism makes Vietnamese and German people closer, Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh said addressing a ceremony promoting Vietnamese Tourism in Berlin on March 6.
At the event, held on the sidelines of the International Tourism Fair ITB-2015, where a number of Vietnamese travel companies are attending, the Ambassador noted that Germany will be a potential market for Vietnamese tourism as it possesses the largest economy in Europe.
She said Vietnam has the advantage to bring its images, people and cuisine closer to German friends through the 120,000 Vietnamese community in Germany.
The Ambassador, however, pointed out that the Vietnamese tourism sector’s marketing and advertising campaigns remained weak in Germany, pledging to lend a hand to support such activities.
General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Van Tuan said that Germany is an untapped tourism market for Vietnam though there was a significant rise in the number of German tourists to Vietnam in 2014.
Numerous tourist products favoured by foreign vacationers have been launched in Vietnam including maritime, cultural, and eco - tours, Tuan added, expressing his hope that the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany will actively get involved in popularising the country’s must-see destinations.
Earlier, Vietnam – a safe, hospitable and attractive destination – was promoted to a number of international tourism businesses and agencies during a press conference held by VNAT in Berlin on March 5.
