Similar activities will take place in the city including Vietnamese Goods Week in Long Bien District with 100 stalls from December 16 to 20.

Since last November, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the suburban districts has organized a series of Vietnamese Goods Week 2021 to help local consumers buy high-quality goods, and assist businesses in production and sale of farm produce and handicraft products in the year-end months.

From Ba Vi District, Nguyen Thi Hau, a resident from Tay Dang Commune, shared that the event has attracted many garment enterprises to participate and introduce their products. “More importantly, these products are  beautiful, durable, and affordable for many people like me,” she said.

Sharing the same mind, Nguyen Thi Yen, residing in Ngu Hiep Commune, Thanh Tri District happily said: “Coming to the event, I have many choices as the goods on sale are varied, with guaranteed quality and reasonable prices.”

As a representative from Quy Hoa Import-Export & Trading Service Co., Ltd providing golden camellia tea, which is rated by the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, Ngo Thi Hoa said Hanoi is a potential consumption market for golden camellia tea. “To attract consumers after this event, we place our products online and deliver to customers without shipping fee,” she said.

Recognizing the benefits the event brought to local businesses, Nguyen Van Hung, Vice Chairman of Thanh Tri District People's Committee shared, Hanoi's Vietnamese Goods Week 2021 has not only contributed to enhancing trade promotion, advertising and marketing of products, but also created conditions for the district to effectively implement the dual goals of disease prevention and economic development.

More importantly, this activity also creates opportunities for businesses, co-operatives, and households to strengthen linkages and sign contracts, thereby developing industries and handicrafts strengths of the district such as Dai Ang bronze casting products and OCOP-labeled silk of Van Phuc, incense of Duyen Ha and leather items of Yen My communes.

According to Chairman of Ba Vi District People's Committee Do Manh Hung, participating the program, the locality’s businesses had more opportunities to promote and introduce product brands, trade activities, as well as stimulate consumer demand. “Many Vietnamese goods are sold to local consumers in many suburban areas,” he added.

Local retailers and supermarkets have been urged to participate in the Vietnam Goods Week 2021, creating opportunities for manufacturers to directly contact the distribution system, helping them sell their products in the supermarket system, according to Acting Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan.

“The activities under the Vietnam Goods Week 2021 will create a link among production, supply and consumption of products, especially they help the participants understand the regulations and requirements on goods quality standards and designs for their products to hit the shelf of modern retail systems,” she underlined.
