Vietnamese domain name “.vn” leads ASEAN's registration
According to the Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC), the Vietnamese domain name “.vn” tops ASEAN in the number of registrations, and is ranked seventh among the top 10 Asian countries for the largest number of national code top-level domains.

As of November, Vietnam has 926,065 domain names written in Vietnamese. The VNNIC removed 190,000 inactive Vietnamese domains.
Notably, registration for Vietnamese domains is distinctively higher than international ones.
This is attributable to increasing improvements to informational security, safety and business connectivity through the Vietnam National Internet Exchange (VNIX) – a significant piece of technical infrastructure that supports internet development in Vietnam.
The VNNIC has built a management system of international standards to ensure information security and the effective operation of national internet exchange, domain name registration and database management.
The VNNIC also increased cooperation with international organisations to develop the internet network in Vietnam.
