The event will be held in Hanoi with the participation of more than 1,000 delegates from around the world.

Hanoi will host the 2025 World Congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA World Congress 2025) in October 2025, a workshop heard on July 9.

The event will be co-hosted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Vietnam Logistics Association (VLA).

Some 1,000-1,500 delegates from Vietnamese and international organizations and companies will attend the congress.

There will be an expo where freight companies will set up 126 booths to market their products and services.

As one of the largest logistics and transportation events, the congress is held annually by FIATA member countries.

It will allow global companies to set up and expand their operations in Vietnam, explore investment in Vietnam's logistics sector, and help the country become a regional and global logistics hub.

The World Congress is expected to offer businesses and authorities a great chance to network, says FIATA Director General Stéphane Graber.

During the congress, logistics companies will have valuable discussions and workshops led by high-level specialists and will benefit from new solutions and technologies," he added.

VLA Vice Chairman Dao Trong Khoa said Vietnamese companies are expected to leverage the Congress to promote international trade activities and improve the efficiency of their supply chain.

"Vietnamese companies will be able to talk to thousands of partners from around the world. Meanwhile, this event will strengthen Vietnam's status in the international market," he said. "We hope the congress will help local enterprises improve their competence and performance. It will also benefit other economic sectors, such as services and tourism.

Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice Chairman of the VCCI, said that green growth and sustainable development are inevitable for the world. Green development has always been one of Vietnam's priorities in the logistics sector.

"VCCI expects the government to favor policies that encourage local enterprises, especially SMEs, to go green." Such policies include tax incentives, support for cost reduction and use of renewable energy, business model reform, and exploration of carbon credits, Vinh said.

The VCCI vice chairman also urged local businesses to overhaul their models and strategies to meet green and sustainable standards and to regularly update themselves on international rules and policies.

According to Turgut Erkinsken, President of FIATA, a green and sustainable transition is one of the main goals of the association.

He suggested that countries around the world should work together and develop a harmonized customs network to make cross-border travel and trade easier.
