Chairman of the Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung recommend the government buy power from waste treatment at prices above the average to make this kind of power more attractive to investors.
The Vietnamese government should issue policies to incentivize power generation from garbage treatment, Chairman Chung suggested at a conference held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on January 17.

Chung said power transmission malfunction and sluggish power projects could result in electricity interruption in major cities.

He stressed that an alternative is power generation from garbage treatment. He suggested the government buy power from waste-to-energy plants at preferential prices to make this kind of power more attractive to investors.

On foreign trade, Chung said Hanoi was one of the best performers in the country in terms of export in 2018, with the city's turnover soaring 21.6% to reach US$14.2 billion.

He attributed the success to promotion activities carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Trade around the world, especially in selling goods to modern retail chains based in Vietnam like Big C (Thailand) and Aeon (Japan).

The chairman also proposed that it is necessary to systematize and build a logics system to develop the e-commerce market.

In the coming years, e-commerce will be a thriving industry with a huge scale. Accompanying this development, there must be a warehouse system. Therefore, Hanoi wants the Ministry of Industry and Trade to have a policy to support localities, including Hanoi to develop an e-commerce system.
