Vietnam sets corporate culture criteria
Anh Kiet 18:33, 2021/07/14
In recent years, many Vietnamese enterprises have made great efforts in building and forming a corporate culture, creating international Vietnamese brands.

Vietnam’s corporate culture has been defined for the first time through a set of standards built under the instruction of the Prime Minister, President of the Vietnam Business Culture Association Ho Anh Tuan said at a press conference in Hanoi on July 14.

Tuan said the set of criteria is the basis for recognizing "Enterprises meeting the standards of Vietnamese business culture", adding that it has received the intellectual, enthusiastic, and responsible contributions of the ministries, industries, scientists, experts, businesses, and media.

The set of criteria consists of two parts with 19 specific criteria and 51 evaluation indicators. The first part details mandatory conditions. The second one stipulates five groups of criteria, including leading businesses for sustainable development, building and implementing corporate culture, respecting the law, business ethics, and social responsibility.

Tuan affirmed that the businesses could volunteer to sign up for the assessment and subsequent recognition.

According to Vu Ba Phu, director of the Trade Promotion Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a brand is the convergence of product quality and corporate culture.

“A good brand is not only the corporate asset but also the national one. The more prestigious brands a country has, the more prestigious the national brand is,” Phu said.

He cited that in recent years, many Vietnamese enterprises have made great efforts in building and forming a corporate culture, creating international Vietnamese brands such as Vinamilk, TH True Milk, and Viettel.

“The set of criteria is not only meaningful to businesses but also important to the National Brand Program. We highly value this set and will consider it as the basis for evaluating the national brand,” Phu added.

For his part, Vice President of the Vietnam Business Culture Association Le Quoc Vinh said this is a form of honoring and praising businesses that have met standards and criteria of corporate culture and gained excellent achievements in response to the campaign "Building Vietnamese enterprise culture" launched by the Prime Minister.

“The recognition and honor contribute to promoting the culture of the Vietnamese business community at home and abroad, gradually meeting the requirements of sustainable development and international integration,” Vinh stressed.
