The administration also requested tourism departments and travel agents nationwide to closely monitor the Covid-19 epidemic in South Korea and a number of major tourist markets.
Besides, the VNAT recommended that outbound tour operators should stop sending tourists to South Korea’s Daegu city, Gyeongsangbuk province and other epidemic regions listed by the Vietnamese government.
Moreover, localities and travel agencies must inform partners, businesses and travelers about Vietnam's regulations on 14-day quarantine for inbound tourists traveling through or coming from Daegu city, Gyeongsangbuk province and other epidemic-hit regions.
Tour operators, accommodation establishments and other tourism-related businesses need to enhance sanitation and preventive measures to ensure safety for travelers and workers.
In case suspected cases of Covid-19 infection are found, it is necessary to work with local healthcare facilities to proceed with isolation in accordance with the protocol and instructions of Vietnam’s Ministry of Health.
On February 24, the Vietnam Tourism Association recommended its members stop sending tourists to Japan, South Korea, Italy and Iran or receiving tourists from those countries until they are safe from Covid-19. Tour programs involving citizens from those countries scheduled for February and March must be postponed to the appropriate time.
For guests who have entered Vietnam, the Vietnam Tourism Association asked the tour operators to verify their health status in the 21 days prior to arrival in Vietnam and during their stay in the country, and notify the competent authorities as prescribed.
