The information was unveiled at the second consultation conference held by the Vietnam Fatherland Front today [March 18] to draft the list of candidates nominated by central agencies to run for the 15th NA.

Two other candidates from the State agencies are Secretary of the An Giang province Party Committee Vo Thi Xuan Anh and Vice Chairman of the State President Office Le Khanh Hai.

Meanwhile, Head of the Central Organization Committee Pham Minh Chinh and 15 other nominees will represent the Government bodies for the 15th NA election.

Other notable candidates include Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Education and Communication Nguyen Hong Dien, Auditor General Ho Duc Phoc, and Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Phan Van Giang.

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue was nominated by the NA to run for the upcoming legislature, along with 129 other candidates, including Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man and Deputy Chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office Nguyen Dac Vinh.

Regarding the fact that candidates are nominated by different bodies, for example Prime Minister Phuc from the government but is nominated by the State agencies, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Hau A Lenh said “competent authorities would later make specific announcement regarding positions of senior officials overseen by the Politburo and Party’s Secretariat.“

On May 23, Vietnamese citizens aged 18 and above will cast their ballots to elect deputies to the 15th NA and representatives of all-level People’s Council for the 2021-26 tenure.
