August Revolution, National Day of Vietnam celebrated in Switzerland

The 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and the National Day of Vietnam (September 2) was celebrated in Bern on August 18.

Malaysia-Vietnam Festival promotes culinary delights and business opportunities

The Malaysia-Vietnam Trade, Tourism & Investment Promotion and Cultural Food Festival concluded its four-day run in Kuala Lumpur on August 18, drawing hundreds of eager visitors to explore the rich cultural and business ties between the two nations.

Among the trade exhibitors, Suca AgriFood and Joho Botanical stood out as the only representatives from Vietnam. Hailing from Dak Lak Province and Ho Chi Minh City, they showcased premium natural herbal beauty products, including macadamia nuts, cashew nuts, black soybeans, skin care, hair care and body oils, all of which fit the requirements of Muslim customers.   

ASEAN's 57th founding anniversary marked in Vietnam

The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations hosted a ceremony on August 18 to mark the 57th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and 29 years since Vietnam joined the bloc.

The ceremony featured a painting contest to express love for nature and raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection, cultural and ecological diversity within the ASEAN region. Participants were also treated to traditional musical performances and diverse cuisines from ASEAN member countries.

Vietnam targets completion of 3,000 km of expressways by 2025

Vietnam has ambitious plans to expand its expressway network, aiming to complete 3,000 kilometers by 2025. On August 18, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh kicked off a nationwide emulation campaign to rally sectors, localities, businesses, and citizens in support of this major infrastructure initiative. This campaign seeks to unite efforts across the country to accelerate the development of expressways, which are crucial for boosting economic growth and enhancing connectivity.

China leads FDI projects in Vietnam in Jan-Jul 

China led in the number of new investment projects in Vietnam in the first seven months, accounting for 30% of the total registered in the country during the period, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

SABECO triumphs at 2024 World Beer Awards

Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation (SABECO) and all four of its beer brands have won awards for taste and quality, as voted by the experts at the 2024 World Beer Awards.

The Saigon Beer brand leaves a lasting impression, as evidenced by its continued ranking as one of the top two beverage brands in rural Vietnam in 2023 and its impressive growth of 10.5% in purchase occasions and 8.1% in household penetration, according to Kantar Vietnam's Brand Footprint 2024 report.

"Heritage City - Colors of Ha Long" promotes Quang Ninh image

The "Heritage City - Colors of Ha Long" event on September 1 and 2 will promote the image of Quang Ninh Province and help tourists experience hot air ballooning. It is held for the first time as one of the activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage (1994-2024). The city will issue free tickets to control the number of visitors.

First-ever international beach tennis tournament held in Vietnam

The four-day ITF - BT50 Fleur De Lys Cup 2024 or Beach Tennis Tournament kicked off on August 18 in the central province of Binh Dinh on August 22-25 will feature 30 athletes from Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Slovakia, Latvia, and Vietnam, among others. They will compete in the men's and women's doubles categories.
