10th International Yoga Day held in Binh Dinh

The 10th International Yoga Day occurred on August 17 in Quy Nhon City, central province of Binh Dinh. Under the theme "One World, One Health", the event aimed to promote the benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being, and to strengthen the friendship between the people of Vietnam and India.

Phu Quy Island to become center for fishery logistics services

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has signed a decision approving the project to develop Phu Quy Island in the central province of Binh Thuan into a center for fishery exploitation and logistics services combined with maritime search and rescue operations.

The project will focus on offshore seafood catching and farming, preservation, processing, fishery logistics services, maritime search and rescue, and maritime emergency response to increase income and improve fishermen's livelihoods, as well as to ensure national defense and security. The center will be a place for direct landing and transshipment of fish caught at sea, with an annual capacity of about 25,000 tons of fish.

Bao Ha Temple Festival draws massive crowds

The Bao Ha Temple Festival, known as the General Hoang Bay Temple Festival held in the northern province of Lao Cai aims to promote culture and tourism. The annual festival commemorates General Hoang Bay, who made significant contributions to defending the country against foreign invaders in the 18th century. The temple was recognized as a national historical and cultural site in 1997, and its festival was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2016.

Huge turnout for Dam Nai dragon boat race boosts local tourism

The Dam Nai - Ninh Hai Traditional Dragon Boat Race 2024, held on August 17, featured 210 athletes in 10 teams. Set on the picturesque Dam Nai Lagoon, known for its rich biodiversity and scenic beauty, the event attracted large crowds. After three rounds of competition, six teams were awarded top prizes. The race highlights local culture and promotes tourism in the region.

Hue International Dance Festival showcases global talent

The 2024 International Dance Festival kicked off on August 17 in the central city of Hue, featuring nearly 500 performers from 17 teams representing nine countries, including Vietnam. The festival, held every three years, runs until August 22 and showcases a variety of dance styles. It aims to promote cultural exchange and enhance Vietnam's dance art on the world stage while offering spectators a unique cultural experience in Hue.

Phu Tho prepares for National Day holiday

The northern province of Phu Tho has prepared to welcome flows of tourists on the National Day holiday (August 30 - September 2). The measures include strict monitoring of tourist activities, ensuring fire safety, and preventing price gouging. The activities also help promote the “Vietnamese Travel in Vietnam - I Love Vietnam” campaign, encouraging local businesses and communities to participate in boosting domestic tourism.
