The Hung Kings’ Temple Festival kicked off on April 21 in Vietnam’s Northern Province of Phu Tho with art performances highlighting Vietnamese intangible cultural heritage.
The event, which will last for almost a week to attract visitors to Phu Tho which is home to Hung Kings Temple – the founders of Vietnam, marked the performances of UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage namely Then singing, Ca Tru singing, Xoe dance of Thai people, Quan Ho (love duet) singing, Vi and Giam folk songs, Nha Nhac - Hue Court Music.
The week-long festival is to celebrate the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day which falls on the 10th of the third Lunar month, one of the most important national holidays in Vietnam.
The French-Vietnamese intersection view through photography is a photo exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City showcasing dozens of photos taken by both Vietnamese and French artists.
Selected in a competition held by the Embassy of France in Hanoi, the photos featuring the beauty and life in both Vietnam and France are one of the significant activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-France relations.
The Ministry of Transport considers raising the maximum speed at the North-South Expressway to 90km/h from the current 80km/h. The North-South Expressway – Phase 1 with a length of 654km in total is expected to come operational in 2024.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) has set up two more colleges specializing in chemistry and life sciences, and materials, totaling five.
HUST’s five colleges focus on important sectors, helping improve the country’s capacity for research and training. HUST enrolls about 7,000 students per year.
HUST is one of Vietnam’s leading universities including Vietnam National University – Hanoi, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Nguyen University, Hue University, and Danang University.
Headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee or Hotel de ville will be available for visitors on April 29-30 on the occasion of Reunification Day (April 30).
The 114-year-old building was constructed between 1889 and 1909 with the design of French architect Femand Gardès. The facility, together with the municipal Opera House, Post Office, the People’s Court, etc. is of French architecture legacy.
Vietnam’s first golfer championed the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final held in Vietnam. Nguyen Anh Minh, 16, will join the Faldo Series Grand Final in November 2023.
Established in 1996, the Faldo Series, founded by legendary Nick Faldo golfer, is recognized as the only global amateur series for boys and girls aged from 12 to 21.
Being the winner of several championships, Nguyen Anh Minh is the top seed of Vietnam at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) to take place in May.
