Vietnam raises security level ahead of big vacation this month-end

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has raised the aviation security control measure to Level 1 at some big airports ahead of the five-day national vacation starting on April 29 to prevent emergencies caused by overcrowding during the holiday.

Airports on the list are Noi Bai, Danang, Tan Son Nhat, Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh, and others. Meanwhile, airlines are required to develop a plan to increase flight frequency to meet the travel needs of passengers to minimize delays and cancellations.

Security control measures may be tightened in three stages in accordance with current regulations when there are high risks to aviation security. Level 1 is used in cases of significant sociopolitical events or complex conditions involving political security and social order.
