The travel website Rough Guides has revealed the world`s top 10 best backpacking destinations. Accordingly, Vietnam was ranked at 9th place.
The travel website Rough Guides has compiled a list of the world’s best backpacking destinations. In the ASEAN region, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia are among the best destinations for backpacking tourists, according to Rough Guides.
Writing about Vietnam, Rough Guides said the country is buzzed with energy and hope. Backpackers can discover colorful cities which are full of amazing scenery and delicious street foods.
The website also recommends tourists to opt for a motorbike trip along the national routes, or enjoy the magnificent Ha Long Bay from a cruise’s window. With the mountain tribes, offbeat beaches and beautiful countryside, Vietnam is considered as the paradise for backpackers.
Beside Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia are three other southeast countries also in Rough Guides’ list.

New Zealand was selected as the best backpacking destination in the world. The website wrote that the country, a relatively small island boasting an astounding variety of jaw-dropping landscapes, is a utopia for fans of the great outdoors.

The rest of the list includes Peru, Sri Lanka, Bolivia, Spain and India.
