Vietnam named among world’s best adventure travel destinations

Vietnam has been listed among the world’s best adventure travel countries, according to Us News and World Report, a US media company.
According to Usnews and World Report, travel trends are changing, with tourists increasingly looking to bring a bit of action to their holidays. That’s why Usnews and World Report has put together a list top 50 best adventure travel countries in the world.

Usnews and World Report surveyed 21,000 people about which five countries they found to be friendly, fun, pleasant climate, scenic and sexy, the five attributes which are the most likely to cultivate an adventurous holiday, and then ranked the countries which scored highest on all categories.
Vietnam has been ranked 43rd on the list of the best adventure travel countries in the world. “Vietnam is densely populated and growing quickly, with about one third of the population living in bustling cities,” Usnews and World Report wrote.
Brazil tops the list, followed by Italy, Spain, Thailand, Greece, and Costa Rica, etc.
Earlier, Vietnam gained the first position among the world’s top 10 travel destinations for families, accoding to Intrepid Travel, the global leader in delivering sustainable experience-rich travel.
Vietnam is the place to be for foodie families, according to Dyan McKie, Intrepid’s family travel expert.
“Vietnam is a stand out for foodies within the family regardless of age,” he says. “Freshness is key to Vietnamese food and you can pick up cheap eats from street vendors like banh mi or pho.”
Vietnam received a total of more than 6.7 million foreign tourists in the first five months of 2018, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
The country is striving to welcome 17 - 20 million foreign visitors and make US$35 billion per year from tourism by 2020, contributing 10% to the country’s economy, compared to the current 7.5%.
