Vietnam – Mongolia enterprises tighten cooperation

Vietnamese and Mongolian enterprises would continue to cooperate in animal product export and tourism, as well as exchange experience in medical training.

Vietnam’s Ambassador to Mongolia Doan Thi Huong on November 26 led a delegation to Govi-Altai province, aiming to strengthen cooperation between Vietnamese and Govi-Altai’s enterprises.

At the meeting, President of the province Batjagal briefed the Vietnamese delegation on the natural characteristics, socio-economic conditions and the advantages of the province.

Accordingly, the province’s main strength is its livestock, including horse, cattle, camel, sheep and goat, whose meat are of the best quality of all regions in Mongolia.

Govi-Alta also attracts a large number of foreign tourists every year for health treatment proposes.

The president requested the Vietnamese ambassador to promote greater linkage between Vietnamese and Mongolian enterprises in animal product export and tourism, as well as exchanging experience in medical training.

Ambassador Huong said at the 16th meeting of the Inter-governmental committee in August 2017, both sides agreed on Mongolia’s export of animal products to Vietnam.

In the upcoming 17th meeting in December in Hanoi, Vietnam and Mongolia would continue to address pending issues to realize this agreement, Huong said, adding this is an opportunity for enterprises from Govi-Altai to take part in the export of animal products to Vietnam.

However, Huong stressed Mongolian companies must strictly follow criteria regarding quality and food safety to export their products to Vietnam.

In the field of medical training, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Mongolia’s Institute of Science are cooperating in a project of developing medicine treating liver diseases and joint pain from Mongolian herbs.

With a diversified sources of herbs, Huong expected Govi-Altai to plays an active role in the project.

Huong added Govi-Altai has huge potential for tourism, especially spiritual tourism, which is very attractive to Vietnamese people.
