The event was organised by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and the Vietnam-Japan IT Cooperation Club.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung said cooperation between the two countries has been flourishing across the broad under the extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia.
The two sides have made substantial progress in IT cooperation, with the signing of many agreements on radio frequency, post and manpower training. Vietnam and Japan will boost the development of e-commerce in the coming time, the deputy Minister noted.
According to the reports of VINASA, Vietnam and Japan have made breakthroughs in IT cooperation over the past 10 years.
While many IT companies in Vietnam just started to export their products in 2007, the country quickly became the most favourite partner of Japan three years later.

Last year, Vietnam was the second biggest partner of the Northeast Asian nation. Businesses that provide outsourcing services for Japan have continually recorded stable growth, between 20-40 percent, even amid economic difficulties. These enterprises gained 1.6 billion USD from producing software for Japan in 2015.
Vietnam is now one of the 10 most attractive software outsourcing markets in the world, VINASA said.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung said his ministry will promote coordination with other ministries and sectors to improve the domestic investment climate to facilitate IT investments in the country.
During the event, VINASA Vice Chairman Nguyen Doan Hung mentioned a shortage of Vietnamese IT workers fluent in Japanese, which is a obstacle to closer partnership between the countries’ IT firms.
Vietnam needs to promote both quantity and quality of its IT manpower to meet software outsourcing demand in Japan as well as global markets, he said.
