Within the framework of the exhibition, a series of seminars will focus on discussing cooperation issues, attracting investment resources for innovation, creating a new driving force for Vietnam's economic growth in the coming period.

At the press conference on December 29 in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong said that 2021 is a pivotal year for implementing the innovation strategy, taking advantage of the 4th Industrial Revolution to change mindset and innovation culture.

At the VIIE 2021, more than 150 booths will display Vietnam’s innovative products, technologies, and ideas. There will also be workshops and connecting activities between those involved in the innovation ecosystem and a STEAM festival for students.

The exhibition is expected to be an annual event on innovation and building innovative connections between experts, institutions, businesses, international corporations, investment funds, and organizations in order for Vietnam to be the destination of regional innovation in the new era.

The expo is organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) in coordination with the ministries of Science and Technology, Information and Communication, Industry and Trade, Education and Training.

Within the expo, the commencement of the the National Innovation Center at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park is also one of the highlights in a series of these activities. The center under the MPI will be the nucleus for the development of Vietnam innovation ecosystem. It aims at becoming the leading regional innovation hub, contributing to the fundamental transformation of the country’s future economy, and bring it to periods of rapid and sustainable development.
