Vietnam ensures the safety of Chinese tourists
The confirmation made by leaders of Vietnam`s tourism industry when they held a meeting with Chinese delegation on May 16th.
Vietnam is still a relatively safe and friendly travel destination.
China is now the leading market with a large number of visitors travelling to Vietnam, so every Chinese tourist will bring many economic benefits to Vietnam's tourism industry.
However, tensions between Vietnam and China have escalated since China installed Haiyang Shiyou 981 oil rig illegally in Vietnam's economic zone and continental shelf.
The incident led to anti- China protests and even violence in many provinces of Vietnam, affecting tourism industry in the country. In fact, many China, Hong Kong and Taiwan decided to cancel tours to Vietnam. Many travelers are worried about unrest in Vietnam .
In this context, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism in collaboration with the Vietnam Tourism Association held a meeting with the group of tourists from Mekong Limited Liability Company Beijing Mega - Bridge on the evening of May 16th to share information, helping Chinese visitors have the right view on the current situation of tourism in Vietnam.
Mr Vu The Binh, Deputy Chairman of Vietnam Travel Association said that the currently complex issues between the two countries in the South China Sea is a matter of the two governments and will be exchanged by peaceful means.
He added that social media in many countries including China publishs information relating to unsafe tourism of Vietnam. Nevertheless, territorial disputes are seperated from tourism matter. All the Chinese visitors traveling to Vietnam will be safeguarded in terms of legitimate rights.
