Vietnam enhances its image as a top European holiday destination
Vietnam has welcomed about one million European visitors yearly since 2010, Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh said at the recent workshop held in Da Nang city.
The Vietnam Tourism Association in collaboration with Department of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a "Vietnam – a destination of European visitors" seminar in Danang city on October 16 with the aim to enhance the nation’s image as a top European holiday destination.
The seminar was attended by a numerous travel operators and journalists of Western European countries.
At the event, the Vietnam Tourism Association introduced the policies, the country's new tourism products, which are focused on the development of responsible tourism and for the benefit of community.
The workshop was a chance to bring the national image and people nearer to international friends.
While speaking at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh said Vietnam has received about one million European visitors yearly in the past five years, accounting for 15% of the total number of foreign travelers to the country.
He added that the Vietnamese Government has exempted citizens from five West European nations and Belarusia from visa requirements since the beginning of July in hopes of stimulating tourism and the preliminary results look promising.
"To attract rapidly more tourists from Western European countries, Vietnam will strengthen tourism promotion. The Association will hold a series of plenaries and workshops targeting European ministers and directors of tourism, tourism professionals, students, travel agents, hoteliers, airport officials. We expect that these activities will make a close contact, provide information and boost exchanges between Vietnam's tourism companies and Europe's travel businesses", Binh concluded.
