Vietnam is a leading information technology (IT) services destination in Asia, heard a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on August 8 on the upcoming IT service export conference 2017.
President of the Vietnam Information Technology Outsourcing Alliance (VNITO) Lam Nguyen Hai Long said the IT outsourcing industry is growing in Vietnam, especially in HCM City. The city earns nearly one billion USD per year from exporting IT services, he noted.

According to the global real estate adviser Cushman & Wakefield, Vietnam was ranked first in the world’s business process outsourcing (BPO) in 2016. The US Gartner’s research and advisory company ranked Vietnam first among the six leading destination in global technological transfer in Asia-Pacific in 2016.

The latest research from the KPMG service firm showed that Quang Trung Software City in HCM City was ranked third in eight technological parks in terms of land occupancy rate, incentives, and telecom infrastructure and ranked fourth in scale, efficiency and operation of businesses, FDI attraction, and human resources skills.

CEO and President of LogiGear Corp Hung Nguyen suggested increasing capacity for youngsters and investing in research and development activities, as well as reform technologies to increase competitiveness.

The IT service export conference 2017 is scheduled to take place in HCM City on October 19-20 with the participation of over 150 multinational groups and 250 domestic IT businesses to promote Vietnam’s potential in the field and connect domestic and foreign companies.
