Vietnam and Japan to promote technology cooperation
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc yesterday at the Goverment`s office received Mr. Tsutomu Tomioka, the House of Parliament, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary, Japanese Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, who has paid working visit in Vietnam.

During the reception, the PM highlighted fruitful development in many fields between the two countries in the recent time, especially in human resources training and hi-tech, saying that he hopes the visit will contribute to promoting the Vietnam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership.
He suggested the two sides foster hi-tech cooperation - the strength of Japan, stressing that Vietnam highly values Japan’s new technologies applied in treating cancer. Vietnam wants the Japanese side to provide more information relating to the expense and roadmap for transferring the technology for Vietnam, the PM said.
He said he hopes Japan will strengthen links with Vietnam in space technology and suppercomputer development, and the two sides will sign a agreement on cooperation in science and technology as soon as possible.
For his part, Tsutomu Tomioka affirmed that his country wishes to bolster science and technology connection with Vietnam to a higher level. He emphasised the potential for the two sides to boost links in cancer treatment, space technology and supercomputer development, saying that Vietnam should focus on personnel training for these sectors if the country is interested in them.

At the meeting, Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee expressed his desire Japan to support Da Nang to connect and cooperate with Japanese businesses in high-tech, especially in the fields of space technology, medicine as Deputy Minister Tsutomu Tomioka has mentioned.
