Pyrexar 3D hyperthermia is a technology using non-invasive high-frequency waves to put heat on tumors before radiation, with a maximum temperature of around 45 degrees Celsius.
Vietnam is the world’s fifth country owning Pyrexar 3D microwave hyperthermia system, the world’s latest cancer treatment technology, said Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung at the inauguration of the equipment at Saint Paul Hospital in Hanoi on August 28.

Chung also said that Hanoi is negotiating with some foreign corporations and research centers to constantly update modern technologies, aiming to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment in Hanoi, thereby, providing better services for the citizens, shorten the bed occupancy time of patients in hospitals and reduce the treatment cost.

Pyrexar 3D hyperthermia is a technology using non-invasive high-frequency waves to put heat on tumors before radiation, with a maximum temperature of around 45 degrees Celsius, Tuoi Tre Newspaper quoted Hanoi’s Department of Health Director Nguyen Khac Hien as saying.

The technology is used to support chemotherapy in many cancer treatment processes, especially in dealing with solid tumors.

According to Director of Saint-Paul Hospital Nguyen Dinh Hung, the adoption of Pyrexar system is considered a milestone in the development of applied medicine, especially when the number of cancer patients is growing rapidly.

Some hospitals in Vietnam have adopted heating treatment equipment to treat cancer, however,  none of them integrates 3D technology to visualize the heating zone in the body as Pyrexar 3D.

The system has been immediately put into operation and will bring more hope for cancer patients, said Hanoi’s mayor Nguyen Duc Chung.
