Uncle Ho Temple on the peak of King mountain
Uncle Ho`s temple is located on the King mountain`s peak, the highest point of the Ba Vi mountain range and forming a part of the relic of Tan Vien Son - the Saint of Ba Vi mountain.
To reach Uncle Ho's temple, visitors must travel by car on a steep slope over a distance of more than 12km, then further climbing more than 1,320 stone steps of Ba Vi mountain to reach its peak. Uncle Ho's temple was built in a durable and dignified structure. |
The temple follows the traditional architectural style with eight tiers of eave, mounted on the pillars standing on the stone platforms. The main hall is an open space without door. On the stone altar there is a bronze statue of Uncle Ho in sitting posture, a lacquer banner hang in the middle recording his famous words: "Nothing is more precious than independence and liberty". High above is red marbale national flag. The sides of the altar are brass and bronze.
The temple, which is also a small museum, displays the artifacts used by Ho Chi Minh and his pictures in a solemn way. The yard in front of the temple is planted with a large stone monolith which is carved with an excerpt of the eulogy speech in Ho Chi Minh funeral in 1969: "Our nation, our citizen an our country gave birth to President Ho Chi Minh, the great national hero, and he himself radiated our nation, our citizen an our country ". The back of the stone monolith is engraved with his testament.
Every day, incense burned the whole day and fresh flower offerings create a cozy atmosphere. The Ba Vi National rangers are also the temple's guards and they perform their duty wholeheartedly, even in the harshest weather.
Visiting the monument, thinking about the Uncle Ho, each of Vietnamese citizen understands the morality and behavior of the great leader of the Vietnamese nation; and vow to study and follow his example.
