Thousands of tourist arrivals to Con Dao
Con Dao district in the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau welcomed roughly 80,000 tourist arrivals in the first nine months of this year, up 14.98%.
This figure included over 16,500 foreign arrivals, making up 20% of the total to the district.
Total tourism and related services turnover hit approximately VND277 billion, a year-on-year rise of 22%. Of this, turnover from welcoming foreign tourists was estimated at VND102 billion.
Con Dao is investing in infrastructure projects such as transport, electricity and water provision and sewage and garbage treatment to strive to attract 64,000 tourist arrivals a year by 2015.
Thanks to being promoted and advertised on some foreign channels and magazines and travel businesses in the district, upgrading infrastructure to provide better services for tourists, the number of travellers both locals and foreigners arriving in Con Dao has recently increased.
