Musk fox (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) is one of the typical animals of U Minh Thuong National Park.

Weighing up to 1kg, the large “flying-fox” (Pteropus vampyrus Linnaeus) is a giant bat species concentrated in U Minh Thuong forest. This bat lives in large flocks in mangrove trees. They hang themselves in trees during the daytime and fly long distances to find food at night. The food of this species is mainly nectar or fruits such as rambutan, mango, and durian.

Fishing cat (Prionailurus viverrinus).

The Lesser Adjutant (Leptoptilos javanicus) is a large wading bird in the stork family Ciconiidae. This is a rare bird species in U Minh Thuong. Like other members of its genus, it has a bare neck and head. It is, however, more closely associated with wetland habitats where it is solitary and is less likely to scavenge than the related Greater Adjutant.
