More than 300 athletes on August 4 participated in the Hanoi Open Roller Clubs Championship, competing for the Centosy Cup 2024.

The athletes from 30 clubs nationwide will compete in nearly 500 categories, vying for 42 sets of medals. The competition features six main events: Speed Skating, Sprint, Slide, Fish Speed Slalom, Speed Slalom, Classic Freestyle Slalom, and Skateboard.
Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said roller sports are now the main events in major international sports.
“By participating in this event, the athletes will have the chance to learn, exchange experiences, and compete in a professional environment," said Tai.
"We hope that the championship will foster a healthy lifestyle and enhance the physical and mental well-being of Vietnamese youth," he added.
Additionally, the one-day event aims to promote the practice and competition of Roller Sports in Hanoi and across the country, seeking new talents for the national team, he said.
Nguyen Thi Hue, Director of Centosy Vietnam, said that the competition provides young athletes with an opportunity to improve their skills, enhance their professional achievements, and gain experiences for upcoming competitions.
