Vietnamese people possess an excellent source of medical knowledge. With the help of technology, it will certainly create outstanding values, said Nguyen Francis Tuan Anh, senior technology and solutions advisor of VMED Group at the national innovative start-up festival Techfest 2020.
He was speaking at the workshop themed “Digital transformation solutions to revolutionise healthcare” organised by the Medtech Village on November 29.
The workshop, which was a highlight of Medtech Village’s activities at Techfest 2020, saw the participation of leading medtech experts from Việt Nam and around the world.
At a seminar’s roundtable session named “Digital transformation in healthcare sector: Now or never”, Cao Anh Tuan, technology director of Genetica and Google’s former senior officer, said start-ups needed to focus on the products that customers ask for and the market is searching for.

“Money is not necessarily the most important factor for young people when starting a business. It is essential to have start-up mentors who are willing to give you the experience they have accumulated in a long time.
“The sustainable direction is to create a product that solves the world's problems or find new and better ways for already solved problems to apply them in Vietnamese market,” he said.
Delegates at the workshop discussed Government’s and the Ministry of Health’s policies and orientations in the digital transformation process in the sector, digital transformation trends in the global medical sector, demands and visions about digital transformation from hospitals, and real stories from start-ups.
Being one of the 12 tech villages and communities present at Techfest Vietnam 2020, Medtech Village has the mission to connect units, organisations, and individuals to seek and support innovative projects in medical technology, while creating opportunities to connect with financial resources, development partners, and share knowledge with leading experts in the field, thus creating a start-up ecosystem with sustainable development in the digital era of the world and Việt Nam.
As part of Techfest 2020, Medtech Village hosted a number of activities to increase connectivity, co-operation, and power of the five parties: Schools – the State – Scientists – Businesses – Community in a move to create a supporting network for start-ups.
