Hanoi is willing to create favorable conditions for a smooth and successful celebration of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden.

The Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam, Ann Måwe, is looking forward to the support and cooperation of the Hanoi authorities in successfully organizing events to celebrate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden.

Ambassador Ann Måwe affirmed that 2024 is a special year, marking 55 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden. Over the past five decades, friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries have been continuously maintained, strengthened and developed.

She added that at the early stage of establishing diplomatic relations, Sweden focused on development cooperation to help Vietnam in post-war reconstruction with important infrastructure projects such as the Vietnam National Children's Hospital in Hanoi.

The bilateral cooperation between the two countries has now entered a new phase. Vietnam has experienced strong development and has become an important partner for Sweden in various fields, she said.

Many Swedish companies, such as ABB and Ericsson, have expanded their investment and cooperation activities in Vietnam, especially in the fields of sustainable development and innovation, the Ambassador pointed out.

She also said that a number of activities will be held in Hanoi as part of the commemorative events. In March 2024, SEB Group, a Swedish bank with a long history since 1856, is expected to hold a conference for CEOs of Nordic companies in Hanoi.

In addition, the embassy will organize various activities to promote trade, cultural exchange and tourism, including visits and exchanges of delegations and Swedish leaders in Hanoi and other provinces in the country.

He expects Ambassador Ann Måwe to continue to act as a bridge to promote cooperation in these areas between Hanoi, localities, businesses and Swedish partners.
