Strengthening cooperation between Hanoi and Vienna

On November 6, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Comittee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung welcomed Mr. Thomas Schuller Gotzburg, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria on the occasion of his new term in Vietnam.
Thanks for the welcome from the leaders of the People's Committee, the new ambassador introduced the strengths of Austria in intelligent urban management and public transport field, at the same time, wished to expand and optimize cooperation between Hanoi and other provinces and cities of Austria.

Mr. Thomas Schuller Gotzburg also proposed Hanoi to facilitate some events on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Austria and the 20th anniversary of establishment of the Austrian Embassy in Hanoi in the coming time. In which, both parties shall exchange artists and orchestras in the capital to promote cultural exchanges, raise mutual understanding and enhance the people's external relations.
To congratulate to Mr. Thomas Schuller Gotzburg in his new position, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung wished the ambassador shall strengthen and enhance the relationship between Vietnam and Austria in general, Hanoi and Vienna in particular.
Welcoming the new ambassador's proposals for future celebrations, President Nguyen Duc Chung was looking forward to the cooperation in related fields to be expanded for common interests and mutual development.
Regarding the socio-economic situation of the capital, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said, Hanoi always encourages and create conditions for European businesses, including Austria to invest in and transfer technology in Hanoi in all fields. In addition to expanding cooperation in areas where the Austrian business community has been active in the past such as providing fire prevention and fighting equipment, rescue and waste treatment solutions, the two sides can look for opportunities to improve infrastructure and enhance human resources quality in 2016 – 2020 period.
