As Vietnam reopens its border on March 15, international tourists plan to visit the beautiful country as soon as possible.

Tourists from Singapore, United State, and South Korea are the people who want to travel to Vietnam the most, according to a recent survey conducted by Agoda.com, the accommodation booking platform for travelers.

Vietnam, which closed its borders on March 22, 2020, when the coronavirus broke out, reopened to international travel on March 15, 2022. Search data from the travel platform reveals nearby Singapore as the market most looking to visit beautiful Vietnam and take in the nation’s warm culture, renowned cuisine, and stunning sights. Vietnam's reopening on March 15 to inbound travel came a day before Singapore approved the nation as one of its Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) partner countries, reigniting travel between the two nations.

It is accompanied by the resumption of visa-free entry for travelers from 13 markets around Asia and Europe, and all ASEAN member countries.

Visitors from the United States were the second-largest group of Vietnam-seekers according to the platform, South Korea - long one of Vietnam's top investors, and also the homeland of its largest resident expatriate population - comes in third, with Koreans being keen to both reignite business ties and re-explore Vietnam's coastlines.

India and Malaysia round out the top five nations searching for accommodation in Vietnam.

Other countries in the list of “Top ten countries wanting to visit Vietnam the most” are Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Thailand, and UAE.

According to Agoda.com, Vietnam’s three largest cities led the way, with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Danang drawing most of the attention from accommodation-seekers looking to visit the fast-growing Southeast Asian nation once again.

“Encapsulating the best of all worlds, Vietnam has bustling cities, numerous nature parks, scenery, countryside, seascapes, culinary delights and globally renowned sites such as Halong Bay to experience up close. If that is not enough of a reason to visit Vietnam, the country’s long history and cultural nuances make it a great option to visit after a two-year international travel break,” it wrote.

In fact, Vietnam welcomes all vaccinated people to visit the country. They only need to have a negative RT-PCR/RT-LAMP test result within 72 hours before departure or a quick test within 24 hours as well as make a medical declaration and install the Vietnam Covid-19 contact tracing app (PC-COVID) during their entire stay in the country.

In addition, travelers from 23 countries can freely visit Vietnam without a visa including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, in addition to Finland, Belarus, Brunei, Myanmar, Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Laos.
