Samsung Vietnam and the Hanoi University of Technology, on December 5, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement the Samsung Talent Program for the 2023-2025 period.

It is the first in a series of MoUs that Samsung Vietnam and technical universities are expected to sign this month.

According to General Director of Samsung Vietnam Choi Joo Ho, along with the rapidly changing technology trends, Samsung Vietnam wishes to strengthen strategic partnerships with Vietnamese universities, including the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, contributing to training high-quality human resources, which will lead Industry 4.0.

“We are committed to doing our best to create new technology products made by Vietnamese talents,” he emphasized.

In addition to the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, in December, Samsung will continue to sign MoU with the University of Engineering and Technology - Vietnam National University (Hanoi) and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.

The cooperation program will be implemented in training, research, human resources, scholarships, internships, and recruitment.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in executing Samsung's projects.

The Samsung Talent Program in the 2023-25 period will award 300 scholarships worth more than VND21 billion (US$876,455) to excellent students studying information technology, electronics and telecommunications, communications, and multimedia at member universities.

The program will sponsor Samsung Lab at the universities to incubate Vietnam’s next-generation tech talent and research projects in new technology fields such as multimedia communications and security.

Samsung Vietnam’s Mobile R&D Center in Hanoi will cooperate with Vietnamese universities to implement the program. Besides, students will have the opportunity to join in executing Samsung's projects.

The cooperation program aims to prepare for Samsung's new research and development activities in Vietnam.

This is one of Samsung's efforts to affirm its commitment to long-term and sustainable investment in Vietnam, as well as join hands with Vietnam for the development of the digital economy, digital society, and digital citizenship, according to the South Korean company.

Samsung will continue to expand its cooperation and training of IT talents at universities according to market requirements and technology development trends in the world.

After ten years of implementation, Samsung Vietnam has joined hands with local universities to train excellent software engineers and programs, sponsored 11 Samsung Labs at nine universities, and awarded hundreds of Samsung talent scholarships to Vietnamese students.

The total investment value was more than VND108 billion ($4.5 million).
