The two FMs expressed their belief that the ongoing visit by the Romanian PM will contribute to lifting traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries to a greater height.

They pledged to direct the two foreign ministries to work closely with ministries, agencies and localities to effectively realise agreements reached during the visit, particularly in economy and trade, investment, education-training and culture, among others.

Host and guest agreed to promote bilateral liaisons in the international arena within the framework of the United Nations, the Asia-Europe Meeting and the EU-ASEAN cooperation to which both countries are active members. They advocated the maintenance of dialogue in multilateral forums, contributing to peace, stability, security and economic growth.

On the East Sea issue, Comanescu affirmed that Romania supports the maintenance of peace, stability, maritime and aviation freedom in the East Sea. Every dispute must be settled by peaceful means on the basis of respect to international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, he said.
