His visit is at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab. This annual event, organized by the WEF in collaboration with the Chinese Government, is the second largest WEF event after the annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Thanh Binh noted that the fact that the Prime Minister has been invited for the second consecutive year underscores the significance of Vietnam's role and contributions to global economic growth.

This year's conference, themed "New Frontiers for Growth," will be attended by 1,600 delegates and aims to explore new growth drivers and industries amid the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) across various economic sectors.

At the conference, the Prime Minister will share his perspectives on significant global shifts affecting both short-  and long-term economic development. He will also discuss and propose solutions to leverage the strengths of the Asia-Pacific region, emphasizing the role of major economies such as China in fostering new growth drivers.

Additionally, he will advocate for collaboration with the WEF and its partners in emerging fields and future industries with far-reaching implications, such as AI, science, technology, and innovation.

During this visit, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral meetings with senior Chinese leaders to deepen and raise the profile of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and China. Maintaining high-level contacts is crucial for enhancing political trust and positively contributing to the growing relationship between the two countries, said Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai said the Prime Minister's participation in the meeting is expected to create opportunities for further global economic integration and to showcase Vietnam's significant socio-economic achievements.

The ambassador emphasized that this reflects a dynamic, actively integrating, and confident Vietnam that appeals to global corporations, fosters mutually beneficial cooperation, and attracts development resources.

Regarding Vietnam-China relations, Mai said the trip is also an opportunity for high-level leaders from Vietnam and China to discuss concrete measures to effectively implement the common understandings reached by the top leaders of both Parties and countries. They aim to enhance and elevate the quality of practical cooperation across various fields.

He expressed  confidence  that with the existing advantages, potential, needs, and foundations, the Vietnam-China relations  will "develop strongly in the future, benefiting the people of both nations and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world."
