At the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is scheduled to participate in the 15th Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian, Liaoning Province, and conduct official visits in China from June 24-27, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Annual Meeting of Champions, co-organized by the WEF and the Chinese Government, is the second largest event after the annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. This year's event will bring together over 1,500 senior leaders from governments, businesses, social and international organizations, as well as entrepreneurs, inventors, and scholars from various fields to discuss solutions for the global economy.

This year's conference, themed "New Frontiers for Growth," comes at a time when the latest economic forecasts indicate the global economy is entering a "soft landing" phase. Economic growth is recovering, inflation is decreasing, and the rapid advancement of technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) is driving development across all economic sectors.

However, WEF suggested that risks and tensions still persist, as such, only through the participation and cooperation of all stakeholders at all appropriate levels can the world unlock new growth frontiers.

In June 2023, Prime Minister Chinh made an official visit to China and attended the 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions held in Tianjin.

During his visit, the Prime Minister discussed challenges hindering global and Vietnamese economic growth, such as the global economic downturn, rising inflation, difficulties in people's livelihoods, the aftermath of Covid-19, geopolitical competition, protectionism, and conflicts threatening global food and energy security.
