Orchid species named after late President Ho Chi Minh

Mr. Popow, a German orchid grower, successfully bred two rare native orchid species of Vietnam - Delenatii and Vietnamese, in 1999.

In 2002, the hybrid trees bloomed and he named the new species Paphiopedilum Ho Chi Minh after President Ho Chi Minh.
 

Today, Paphiopedilum Ho Chi Minh is known in the world as a beautiful and rare orchid species.

An orchid grower said: "It is easy to grow, with good shape, and quickly yields flowers. The flowers are big, with colors from pink to red with excellent shape. The Paphiopedilum Ho Chi Minh orchid combines the beauty of the mother and father trees, a pure oriental beauty".
