Conservators from local museums, fine arts colleges and fine artwork preservation centres will attend a short training course on paper artwork restoration from October 5 to 9 in Hanoi.
The training course is being held as part of a two-year joint project of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and the University of Fine Arts, Dresden.
German experts Dr Andrea Pataki-Hundt and conservator Ines Jesche will give an introduction to the basic principles of paper artwork restoration on October 5 at the Goethe Institute.

Director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum Phan Van Tien will offer insights into conservation in Vietnam.
Hands-on exercises in small groups will supplement the theoretical overview of techniques.
"The training course is meaningful for Vietnamese conservators. They will get more experience in restoring paper artworks that are easily impacted by climate and environment conditions in Vietnam," Tien said.
"The co-operation between the museum and Dresden University will help the Centre for Restoration and Preservation of Artworks to become the national centre in the future," he said.Under the project, training courses on restoration of oil paintings and wood exhibits were held in 2013.
