However, Minister Quan told that the young scientists are meeting many difficulties in research conditions, equipment and expenditures and their salaries do not provide them with financial security.
The scientists also proposed necessary policies to the PM that would assist the scientists to contribute more to the country.
They hoped that the Government will create favouable conditions on policies mechanisms to support business start-ups and encourage private enterprises engaged in science and technology
PM Nguyen Tan Dung praised the efforts and achievements of the young scientists in the past years, and affirming that the Party, State and Government always pay attention to creating favourable conditions for young scientists to promote their talent and creativity.
The PM stressed that in order to speed up the country’s modernisation and industrialisation, the Party and State have defined human resources, especially high-quality personnel, as well as the application of advanced science and technology as strategic priorities.
PM Dung required the Ministry of Science & Technology and other ministries, localities, research institutes, universities and enterprises to design effective policies mechanisms to support, employ and train young scientists while encouraging investment and assistance for science-technology business start-ups.
It is also necessary to back young scientists to increase research activities for new technologies while establishing a chain of science-technology business, turning ideas into products with strong competitiveness in domestic and world markets, the PM added.
Remarkably, after listening to the non-profit project to produce glasses for the blind of Dr.Nguyen Ba Hai from the HCM Ctiy University of Technical Education, PM Dung has assigned the Ministry of Science & Technology to urgently evaluate specific proposals for the device.
The PM also confirmed that the Government will sponsor the project to provide glasses for about 300,000 blind people nationwide.
