Minh Nguyen 09:03, 2024/06/08
The high school entrance exam is always highly competitive for children in Hanoi as only two-thirds of the total candidates will be admitted to public schools.

Today, more than 105,000 candidates in Hanoi enter the exam to high school for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Candidates are required to take tests for three subjects namely Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language (either English, French, German, Japanese, or Korean). This is the third year that Hanoi has applied three-subject high school entrance exam instead of four like before.

This morning, the exam begins with a Literature test of 120 minutes.

The quota for high schools in Hanoi for the 2024-2025 academic year includes 81,000 (77%) for public schools and nearly 52,000 for private and vocational schools.

Candidates have three options for the schools they expect to enter. The results will be announced on July 10-12.
