As part of the Vietnam Family Day Festival, the 2023 Eggs Festival will have 50 egg dishes on display.

The Vietnamese Family Day 2023 Festival kicked off in Hanoi on June 23 in celebration of Vietnam Family Day (June 28) to honor the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese families.

All activities will run through June 25 at the Vietnam Art and Culture Exhibition Center, 2 Hoa Lu Street, Hanoi.

Culinary experience

Highlighting the event is the Eggs Festival 2023, a food festival showcasing 50 dishes that can be made using eggs, ranging from simple to sophisticated.

The Egg Festival is organized by the Vietnam Art and Culture Exhibition Centre in cooperation with the Hanoi Media Association, the Hanoi Professional Chefs Association, and the World Super Chefs Association in Việt Nam.

Visitors to the festival will be able to see Michelin-starred chefs demonstrate their culinary skills by creating innovative egg dishes. From daily meals to the most luxurious dishes of Vietnamese and international cuisine, the theme of the festival is creativity in egg processing.

Famous Vietnamese and international chefs will cook their signature egg dishes at this year's festival, according to Pham Thanh Ha, chairman of the Hanoi Media Association.

Products from major enterprises in Vietnam's culinary sector, such as spices, coffee machines, and sauces made from eggs, will be showcased in another section of the festival.

Through the diverse and exciting activities of the festival, families can experience the values of culinary culture as well as other meaningful activities such as eggshell painting, egg art making, and egg drink preparation.

Families can donate eggs for children with disabilities and receive a voucher to taste egg dishes prepared by the festival's chefs.

There was also a photo zone decorated with different types of eggs where visitors could take selfies.

Another event held under the Vietnamese Family Day Festival is the first Vietnam-US Cultural Exchange Program in 2023.

This is a meaningful activity celebrating the 28th Anniversary of Vietnam-US Diplomatic Relations (July 11, 1995 - July 11, 2023).

The program has many cultural exchange activities like rock music performances, a photo section with Harley Davision Superbike, a performance, and a food exchange with the theme "When Burger meets Banh mi".

Stories behind migrant women workers in Hanoi

As part of the Vietnamese Family Day 2023 Festival, visitors can enjoy the photo exhibition "Where I Arrive" with nearly 70 photos telling the stories of female migrant workers in Hanoi.

They overcome all difficulties to take care of themselves, educate their children and build a happy family.

The exhibition depicts the lives of women workers such as shippers, waitresses, shop assistants, street vendors, and factory workers.

The exhibition is divided into three parts: "Where I Arrive", "A Place I Leave", and "Where I Belong to", which discusses the journey of migrant women workers who left the countryside, where they live in search of livelihood, and their daily life pressures.

June 28 was chosen as the annual Vietnam Family Day in 2007 by then Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to strengthen the responsibility of ministries, departments, social organizations, and individuals in the process of family building to achieve the goals of prosperity, progress, equality and happiness.
