The association granted certificates for the spots during a New Year meeting to honour local enterprises on February 28.
The destinations include restaurants, hotels, relics, beauty spots and entertainment centres that offer reasonable prices and good service, meeting the requirements of a diverse and modern tourism sector and contributing to enhancing the trademark of Nha Trang city and Khanh Hoa province in general.
Some listed names are Ponagar Tower, Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography, Doctor Alexandre Yersin’s Grave and the Vinpearl Amusement Park, as well as some new names such as Waterland Thach Lam Stream Amusement Park, Khanh Hoa bird’s nest restaurant and the Hai Thai ancient houses.
Last year, the provincial tourism sector made impressive progress with three million visitors, up nearly 30 percent year on year, including over 711,000 foreign arrivals, a rise of 34 percent. The sector also earned nearly VND four trillion in the year.
In 2014, the province is set to welcome 3.4 million tourists, including 840,000 foreign visitors, earning five trillion VND from tourism.
On the occasion, the provincial People’s Committee also presented certificates of merit to nine enterprises and two individuals that have made positive contributions to the development of the local tourism sector.
