Regarding Vietnam’s most gravely-ill Covid-19 patient, Patient No.91 who is a British pilot working for Vietnam Airlines, a national consultation was held on Thursday by top experts to find the best treatment regimen. This was the fourth national consultation held for this patient.

Currently, the patient is able to hold a glass of water and his lungs recovered by 40%. He has been unplugged of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) since June 3.

Local health experts said that the patient needs physical therapy and the recovery process takes time.

So far, as many as 6,641 people in Vietnam are under quarantine at hospital, concentrated government-run establishements or at home.

As of June 4, Vietnam has undergone 49 days without local transmission, enabling the country to resume domestic tourism. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said the country can resume receiving international visitors but only when the pandemic situation is totally under control.

The Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) and related agencies have discussed the possible reopening to foreign tourists in some islands in the country.
