Industrial revolution 4.0: Human resources are key
Vietnam ICT Summit 2017 is the platform for administrative agencies and IT enterprise community to discuss solutions and strategies with the objective of taking Vietnam to join the industrial revolution 4.0.

With this being said, in order to join the wave of industrial revolution 4.0, Vietnam has to encourage a better connection and information sharing between the government and enterprises. In the third industrial revolution, Vietnam focused on digital technologies and received positive results, thus, with the current revolution, IT infrastructure should be invested more, the Deputy Prime minister said.
With regard to human resources in IT sector, the Deputy Prime Minister has expressed his delight when Ministry of Training & Education, as well as Ministry of Information & Communications had issued policies to enhance the qualification of human resources in IT sector, the most important factor in the industrial revolution 4.0. However, in order for the human resources to match the current demand, it is necessary to have the participartion from IT enterprise community.
In the next 20 years, with the objective of increase the minimum wage by 7% and GDP of 7.5-8% per year, solution for this entirely lies on human resources in new fields, for which to create new breakthroughs – the Deputy Prime Minister stressed.

The survey also showed advantages, efficient solutions and sectors which Vietnam can approach and be successful in industrial revolution 4.0. As such, enterprises and organizations think human resources (77.7%), awareness & determination of the government (70.4%), and IT & telecom infrastructure (59.1%) are big advantages of Vietnam in this revolution. In order to realize these advantages, Vietnam will need to implement 3 important solutions such as: training human resources (81.8%), push forward with transformation toward digital economy (70%), creative start-ups (53%). Enterprises and organizations also suggested, that Vietnam should focus on some specific sectors, which Vietnam has advantage of in the industrial revolution 4.0: IT (89.9%), tourism (45.7%), agriculture (44.9%), finance & banking (47%) and logistics (28.3%).
After the opening ceremony, the conference will go through 4 panel discussion on the trend, strategy and solution for Vietnam to access industrial revolution 4.0: Awareness of Vietnam; Advantage of Vietnam’s Digital Economy – Digital Industry, Smart Agriculture; Smart Tourism; Smart City and Digital Human Resource, Innovation and start-up.
