According to the General Statistics Office (GSO), Vietnam`s index of industrial production (IIP) in the first four months of 2015 rose by 9.4% compared to the same period last year.
The GSO economists said that the encouraging IIP growth in these four months was spurred by the strong rise in the industrial consumption index in the first quarter of 2015. It grew by 13.9%, considerably higher than 5.5% in the same period last year.
This significant rise in the industrial consumption index also saw in IIP increases in some industries. In which, mobile phones increased by 89%, motorised vehicles 58.4%, television sets 41.8%, and paper production 20.8%.
