As one of the major events of Vietnam tourism, which is held every two years, Hue Summer Festival 2022 will take place from June 25 to 30 this year.

With the theme of “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development”, Hue Summer Festival 2022 aims to praise the ancient former royal city of Vietnam that owns many UNESCO’s world heritages, according to the organizers.
The week of Hue Summer Festival 2022 will feature eight main events, including a vivid art performance to mark the “Opening Night Event”; the nightly musical performances of domestic and international art troupes; a street carnival “The Colors of Culture”; a beer festival; a performance themed Trinh Cong Son music; the program “Hue’s folk performance of Tuong – the Ancient Echoes”, the art program “Royal Harmony”; and the “Goodbye Gala Night”.
According to the organizers, the opening ceremony will be a unique art function that is meticulously staged with many sound effects, modern lighting technology along with an artistic fireworks display.
In addition, a series of sideline events of Hue Summer Festival 2022 will also be held until the end of June and early July, including a street painting festival on Le Ngo Cat Street, Hue City that lasts until June 30; a ceramic exhibition entitled “Stories of the Rivers” at Thua Thien Hue History Museum running until July 16; Tam Giang Lagoon Festival 2022 in Quang Dien district, Hue city (until June 30); the Street Food Festival taking place along the Perfume River; and the exhibition “The Golden Seals of the Nguyen Dynasty” at Ngo Mon Square, Hue Imperial Citadel (until the end of June), among others.

Taking place in the Imperial City of Hue, the former capital of Vietnam, the first iteration of Hue Festival was held in 2000 to promote customs and traditions dating back to the Nguyen Dynasty. Before Covid-19 pandemic, it was an international festival that opened to Vietnamese and visitors with the participation of over art companies from around the world.
Since 2022,the agenda of Hue Festival entails a series of festive activities stretching throughout the year to create an identity of the former ancient capital of Vietnam.
