Hue pedestrian road along Huong River to open in September
A pedestrian road along the southern bank of Huong River (Perfume River) is expected to become one of the best destinations in Hue city, the capital of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.
A pedestrian road along the southern bank of Huong (Perfume) river will be put into use on September 15 after construction started in February 2018.
The pedestrian road along the southern bank of the Huong river as a part of the project “Detailed planning the Huong river and two pilot projects” funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) with a cost of over VND52.9 billion (US$2.27 million).
The project includes a 400m ironwood-floored pedestrian bridge, a wharf, an outdoor stage, lighting and traffic systems and a pedestrian street along the Perfume riverbank from Phu Xuan bridge to Festival restaurant. The road is designed to connect Nguyen Dinh Chieu pedestrian street with Ly Tu Trong Park.

The number of visitors arriving in Thua Thien-Hue in the first seven months of 2018 was estimated at 2.79 million, including more than 1.16 million foreigners, up 9.35% and 41.02% respectively, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.
In which, South Korea continued to lead the countries with the highest number of tourists visiting Hue, accounting for one-third of the total number of foreign arrivals to the central city. The province’s tourism sector earned VND2.6 billion in the period, an increase of more than 32% over the same period last year.
