Hoi An among world’s cheapest holiday destinations

Based on data from national and regional tourist boards and specialized tour operators, the annual report Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer compares the costs of eight tourist staple items under consideration.
Hoi An has been ranked 11th among the 19 cheapest holiday destinations in the world right now, according to a list released by Post Office Travel Money belonging to Worldwide Holiday Costs Barometer.

In this report, Post Office Travel Money compares the costs of eight tourist staple items, including a meal for visitor, a cup of coffee, a bottle of local beer, a bottle of Coca-cola, a glass of wine, a bottle of mineral water, suncream, and insect repellent.
Hoi An costs  tourists only US$86.87, including US$2.35 for a cup of coffee, US$3.30 for a bottle of local beer, US$2.35 for a bottle of Coca-Cola, US$6.60 for a glass of wine, US$0.71 for a bottle of mineral water, US$5.65 for suncream, US$2.35 for insect repellent. A three-course evening meal for two, including a bottle of house wine, costs tourists just US$63.56.
Sunny Beach in Bulgaria tops the list, followed by Marmaris in Turkey, Algarve in Portugal, Cape Town in South Africa, Costa del Sol in Spain, Tokyo in Japan, Mombasa in Kenya, etc.
Earlier, Hoi An has been named among the world’s 10 stunning holiday ideas for 2019 which will inspire you to live the way you’d like to, according to a list released by Elle, a worldwide lifestyle magazine of French origin that focuses on fashion, beauty, health, and entertainment.
Elle advises travelers that Hoi An, arguably Vietnam’s most underrated and marvelous city, is a melting pot of architecture, history and culture. Dating back to the 15th and 19th century, the port-city has a statuesque-ancient-town vibe.
“From ornate Buddhist monasteries to the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge and from the bustling Riverside market to the tranquil old town, Hoi An has it all,” Elle wrote.
