Ho Chi Minh City welcomes 2.25 million foreign visitors in Q1
In March alone, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed over 742,100 foreign tourists, a 10% increase from the same period last year.
The number of foreign visitors to Ho Chi Minh City in the first quarter of 2019 is estimated at 2.25 million, equal to 27% of this year's target and making up half the foreign arrivals in Vietnam in the period, VnExpress reported, citing the municipal Department of Tourism.
Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, Ben Thanh Market, Independence Palace, War Remnants Museum are the favorite destinations in Ho Chi Minh City for foreign tourists.

It also plans to organise a dialogue on the hotel business in the digital era so as to improve accomodation services.
In 2019, Ho Chi Minh City aims to service about 8-8.5 million foreign visitors and expand the tourism sector by 15-20%. In 2018, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed more than 7 million foreign holidaymakers.
Earlier, Ho Chi Minh City has been ranked 4th among the coolest city break destinations in 2019, according to a list released by Refinery29, a leading global media company focused on young women.
“Culture trip calls this Vietnamese metropolis a truly affordable city with a buzzing cultural scene to match,” Refinery29 wrote.
