This information was announced in the latest report on the demand for middle and senior personnel in Vietnam’s market, conducted by headhunter Navigos Search.
The end of the first quarter of 2022 onwards was the high time for recruitment of the FMCG industry as FMCG enterprises are positive on development prospects in Vietnam.
The recruitment company revealed there will be a high number of enterprises waiting for the investment license. This, coupled with the constant job change in the labor market, makes talent-hiring even more dynamic.
Their business situation is forecast to be even better than before Covid-19. Many small and middle-sized companies in Ho Chi Minh City have been established and their factories in neighboring provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Long An, and Vung Tau started operating, the report noted.
While demand for talents in the FMCG industry is high, especially in the e-commerce, and digital fields, the offers are limited, especially for experienced candidates.
Seeking Asia candidates in garment sector
After March 15, when Vietnam reopened international routes and exempted visas for many countries, many foreign investors are flocking to Vietnam.
Foreign investors assessed that Vietnam is still an interesting destination in ASEAN and Asia where they can diversify production areas, reduce risks, and strengthen supply chains. In addition, Vietnam is also a potential labor market where the workforce is assessed as having good skills, and quick learning with reasonable labor costs.
Recruiting Chinese-speaking personnel in manufacturing sector
Hiring demand for Chinese-speaking personnel has been on the rise since the end of 2021 and will continue to be so this year, specifically among businesses in industrial zones. Chinese-proficient skilled and highly qualified workers have much sought after.
Enterprises in industrial zones such as Bac Ninh and Bac Giang, or in neighboring areas are in fierce hiring competition in terms of welfare regime and working hours while those in Phu Tho or Quang Ninh will face fewer troubles recruiting Chinese-speaking workers.
High demand for positions in banks
Over the last two years, banks have made a strong inroad into digitization, to counter the Covid-19 restrictions, leading to a surge in hiring demand for experts in IT, data, and solutions.
Banks are also in need of candidates with experience and good skills for sales positions and those who are able to build high-end and complex products and services such as investment, insurance, and asset management.

According to Navigos Search, businesses in the fields of tourism and hospitality are recruiting foreign senior management positions such as general director, general manager, and heads of departments.
With the construction of hotel and resort projects being restarted, the demand for senior personnel in the construction and operation sectors will also thrive, but a wave of Vietnamese candidates has returned to the market after the “frozen period” of this industry due to Covid-19 is expected to ease the demand in this segment.
In Q1, enterprises operating in Vietnam pay very high salaries for foreign candidates. The salary that the expat receives ranges from about US$8,500 per month to $34,000 per month, according to Navigos.
